How to automatically non-confirm showings on your listings during the COVID-19 pandemic

So, you're social distancing, but you're still receiving showing requests?

The COVID-19 pandemic has created waves in the real estate market - much like most industries. During these times, the entire Touchbase team continues to work hard to ensure that our services remain accessible. While Touchbase continues to be fully functional, the way in which the platform is being used has changed - as is to be expected.

Different provinces have received different directives - for example, in Quebec, showings are banned until further notice. Real estate agents have taken to virtual showings, and laws have been put in place to accommodate this new way of working.

During these unprecedented times, we understand that it can be a little overwhelming to continue to receive showing requests on your listings.

If you'd like to turn them off, here is an easy solution that can be set up in just a few steps.

Use the availability calendar to non-confirm showings

Use the availability calendar to block off times that you know are unavailable for showings. The agent requesting the showing will be asked to choose a different time before sending the request. Here's how you can block your availability calendar indefinitely:

Access the My listings section in the main menu of your Touchbase app.

  1. Select the listing you want to customize.
  2. Select Showing availability.
  3. Double click the time slot in the calendar that you want to add. A window will pop up with the following fields: Type, Start, End, and Repeat. Under Type, select Not possible.
  4. Enter the start and end time of the non-confirm slot. If you want to block off the whole calendar, choose 12:00 AM to 11:30 PM.
  5. Under Repeat, set to Weekly.
  6. Repeat this for every day of the week.

You can come back at a later time and delete each of these blocks.

Please note: the double booking option (in showing settings) has now been turned off by default until further notice. You may still manually activate this function if you wish to do so.
